Our Programs

We started Inara to help ease the transition from middle to high school and help students who may be feeling isolated or unmotivated during the quarantine. Reflecting on our own experiences going from middle to high school and how this pandemic is affecting current middle schoolers, we realized how we could have used a program like this when we went to high school and how we could provide the guidance and support that current middle schoolers may not be able to find elsewhere.

There is so much more to high school than just your next homework assignment or test. High school is the time for you to prepare for college and explore your interests, but it can be hard to know how exactly to do that. There are so many opportunities available for high schoolers (clubs, leadership positions, internships, volunteering, etc.) but without help, it can be hard to find the ones that are right for you. Through our programs, we hope that students will be able to enter into high school confidently and with the support and guidance they need.

Mentorship Program

In our mentorship program, middle schoolers are paired with a high school mentor for virtual sessions where they will be able to ask all their burning questions about high school, learn about opportunities to explore their various interests, and make a new friend.

During our summer session, participants will be able to attend weekly webinars detailing a specific aspect of high school and will have a one on one video call session with a mentor who can provide them with personalized guidance about high school!

Over the course of the year, Inara also offers a series of technical skills workshops, from public speaking to entrepreneurship, as well as guest speaker panel events! Be sure to follow our Instagram and join our newsletter so you can hear about our upcoming workshops.

Mentor Spotlight: Elizabeth Kunz

Inara's Mentor of the Month for this past February was Elizabeth Kunz! Elizabeth is a sophomore at Homestead High School. In her spare time, she enjoys playing water polo and listening to lofi. One fun fact about Elizabeth is that she has created her comic book about science! Thanks Elizabeth for all your hard work!
